Thursday
Devotion:
Today's scripture passage from Luke encourages us to remain vigilant against greed. Jesus illustrates through a parable how a man's fixation on storing wealth for himself led to his demise. This serves as a warning for us against the societal notion that life’s worth can be measured by what we possess. Instead, we are reminded that our worth comes from our Creator and not earthly riches.
Reflecting on this passage calls us to consider how often we worry about our needs. Jesus reassures us that God knows our needs and deeply cares for our well-being. By putting our trust in God, we can release our anxiety over finances and instead focus on His kingdom and righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto us.
Questions:
How can you intentionally shift your focus from worry to trust in God’s provision?
What does it mean to seek God’s kingdom first in your financial dealings?
In what ways do you see money as a source of anxiety in your life?
Prayer and Reflection:
Pray for faith and trust in God’s provision for your needs.
Ask God to help you seek His kingdom first above all else.
